Rationalizing the Blame: Is it my SEO programs or is it Google?
I confess. Before hearing about SEO programs and site optimization industry, I considered that Google was incredible. I Googled anything from people, to photography, to news to odd things and purblindly trusted the results. Then I heard about SEO programs and a separate e-commerce centered on promoting sites, and things changed. But even before that, after doing a bit of introspective analysis, I got an inkling that search engines, Google included, know far from all, and reveal to the web community a tiny portion of that.
My Google travails soon persuaded me that Flikr is a better image search source, that with the assistance of feeds I can access interesting current events coverage without having to rummage through Google search retrieval (rummaging is more fitting than Google search), and people search is best managed by Facebook. It seems that when I look for obscure gadgets on Google, the results are often messy, to put it mildly. Try Googling for SEO tools and other SEO connected themes on Google and you are just about ready to surrender your patience. I mean, tell me, what’s the connection between SEO apps and career websites or Internet casinos? It happens in my disappointment.
So when news of seo software review and the whole industry built around it entered my humble worldview, my suspicions about things popping up on first page of Google increased exponentially. Do they deserve to show up on there and who is to blame, Google or site promoters using SEO apps. The moral dilemma is immense. Do I stop using my SEO keyword ranking tool or do I quit using Google instead? I concluded that I can’t quit Google just yet. At least not until the worthy contender enters the market. For now I will keep juggling between Blekko, Google and the above methods to complement the SERP mess that Google is. And, oh,yes, I will keep playing with my SEO tools.
Truth is that SEO products is the reason why guys like myself get found online. intelligent as they are, Google search algos are not likely to find some no-name guy and position his website highly. In this respect, I remain a steadfast fan of SEO products and natural search. If it was all about the paid search, the corporate businesses would destroy me before I knew it. And there are up to one thousand powerbrands on the Fortune roll! But here is something else that irks me and other check backlinks users, I am certain. There are guys who buy SEO applications and use them to sell beddingon career sites and the like. What we are given is junk that not only takes over the web but is also well indexed by Google.
What is the user reaction to this? People Google SEO tool reviews and will instead find unrelated search findings. They get disillusioned. So much for the “Internet equality”. Does this imply that SEO application and service industry is harmful? Not necessarily.
The unethical users of SEO applications have to stop bastardizing the Net but it’s like asking hackers to stop cracking the code. The unfortunate side about it is that black hat SEOs are overusing the chance to be noticeable on the Net that is offered to the random dude like myself. For now we just have to treat them. One can only hope that Google will put more effort into finding the schemers abusing SEO programs, and if Google doesn’t, the new Google will.
